Gematria (Hebrew's numerical system) is for Kabbalah students and mystics.
Practical Hebrew learners who just want to speak, read, or get around Israel? They don't need it.
That's completely false.
Gematria is everywhere in Hebrew. You literally cannot:
Read a calendar in Israel
Find your way in the Bible and other Hebrew books
Understand Jewish holidays
Know what Israelis mean when they say certain things
... without understanding how Gematria works.
