You know what stops most people from consuming Hebrew content? The belief that they're 'not ready yet'.
That is why today, you're going to watch an all-Hebrew video.
If you're thinking: "INBAL, are you kidding me right now? I just want a fun break after the holidays and you want me to watch an ENTIRE HEBREW VIDEO??"
Stay with me. I want to show you how this is not only possible... but will change how you think about your Hebrew today.
Read This Before You Watch
This video is all about time and years in Hebrew - how we say them, New Year's, the Hebrew Jewish Calendar, and more.
But here's the twist: This video meets you exactly where you are.
Sounds too good to be true?
Let me show you exactly how we do things differently here (and now you will too).
I built this video with three subtitle tracks:
- Full English (for clear guidance on what's being said)
- My PSP transliteration (so you can follow along sound-by-sound)
- Hebrew with no Nikud (for when you want to drop these training wheels and see how you do)
Pick your Vibe(s) today, and dive in:
Vibe 1: Just started (perfect for 'About to start' too)
Follow the English subtitles. Sit back. Let Hebrew wash over you like background music while you learn real Israeli culture and local customs. You're training your ear without even trying.
Vibe 2: I'm getting there
Play with the speed - find the pace where you catch the most words - and listen without putting yourself in lesson mode. I separate words clearly on purpose, so even at 1.5x speed, you'll catch more than you think. Watch it twice. The second time may surprise you with how much more you understand. Follow whichever subtitles work best for you today.
Vibe 3: Feeling adventurous
Notice when patterns repeat. Let your brain do its thing. This is how babies learn language, and your brain still has that superpower.
Vibe 4: In Practically Speaking Hebrew?
Time to play! Based on where you are in the program, see how many patterns and words you identify. Make it a fun game with yourself: pause when you catch something familiar, celebrate when a structure clicks. This is a sample of the Numbers Unit - the most comprehensive Hebrew numbers training that exists (currency, time, counting, age, dates - all of it).
Vibe 5: Want to say 2025 & 2026 yourself?
The pattern is everything. In this video from New Year's 2022, I teach how to say years 2022-3.
For 2025-6, just swap 2 and 3 (for 2022-3) with 5 and 6:
- Five (feminine) = חָמֵשׁ /kha-'mesh/
- Six (feminine) = שֵׁשׁ /shesh/
Vibe 6: Ready to read Hebrew without Nikud?
Follow the Hebrew subtitles. No vowel markings, just like real Israeli texts, signs, and social media. This is your chance to practice reading the way Israelis actually read - without training wheels. That's exactly why I made sure these subtitles don't have Nikud.
Here's what this is really about:
If you're not consuming Hebrew content yet because you think you're "not ready," here's the truth: You get ready BY consuming it. But here's the key:
Once you have a structured program and a teacher guiding you, the more you listen, watch, and immerse yourself, the more ready you become.
That's how language works.
This video isn't about mastering every word. It's about experiencing Hebrew as a living thing - the way you experience music.
You don't analyze every chord progression when you love a song. You just... let it in.
Do that with Hebrew today.
Then tell me what happened. Drop a comment on the YouTube video and tell me:
- What surprised you most?
- What vibe did you try?
- Do you want more of these?
(P.S. That Instagram program I mention? It's now built into Practically Speaking Hebrew, so if you're in the program, you've already got it!)
Next Sunday, we're closing out 2025 and stepping into 2026 בְּרֶגֶל יָמִין /be-'re-gel ya-'meen/ - on the right foot!
And since we'll be past New Year's Day, שָׁנָה אֶזְרָחִית טוֹבָה (I teach you how to say it in today's video)
May it show you (and may you show yourself) that you're capable of more than you think - that you can achieve anything you set your mind to.
